ACES Study Abroad Website ::

The main goal of the College of ACES Study Abroad Program is to give students in the college the opportunity to learn, work, and live in another country and culture to enrich their college experience.

The final design solution for the ACES website incorporates the use of old maps and map like elements, as well as student photographs to communicate the ideas and information of the College of ACES Study Abroad Program.

The light brownish maps in the background help set a warm inviting tone for the site. Maps are further displayed in full color on the program pages to enhance the visual layout and also serves to show the exact location of each study abroad program. The serif typeface selection of Garamond fits well with what might be found on an older map or globe. The vertical bars help denote structure and hierarchy on the page in much the same way longitude and latitude function on the earth. The photographs pictured in the site have been roughed up a bit to convey ideas of travel and wear from passage of time.
